The aim of FOTG is to help maintain and improve on the educational and cultural activities the theatre provides in the form of any of the performance arts including practical theatre, drama, film, music and dance.

The Friends of Theatr Gwaun will fundraise towards additional equipment to improve the facilities which the theatre offers, as well as supporting pilot projects and other work, which isn't funded by core finances. In addition FOTG will work towards increasing opportunities for people of all ages, both the local community and visitors, to engage in quality arts experiences as audience, participants and artists.

The Friends organise a number of fund-raising and other activities throughout the year, including running events and workshops in the theatre. The intention is also to explore other ways of increasing the use of the theatre, connecting better with the local community and making it more sustainable to ensure its long term survival.
